The image of Judd Nelson, the criminal of "The Breakfast Club," walking across an empty football field at the end of the film, the prom queen's diamond earrings in a clutched fist held high over his head has served as an inspiration since I first saw the film years ago. It is a rallying call, a loud and proud "FUCK YOU!" to the forces of age, of apathy and of the uninspired. One would like to believe that through the years our skin has grown thicker. One would like to believe our inner rebel has been calmed to some degree, that our thirst for civil and uncivil disobedience has been satiated. This is not always the case.

This episode of the Ear Candy Update stems from dozens upon dozens of emails I've received from teenagers the nation over. Times haven't changed much, this I can tell you. While it appears to be every generation's duty to bemoan the generation that follows them, I do not. This episode is for them. You may find some fond memories down this road, but this one is for them. The future is unwritten.
