It was a strange decade, to be sure. The punk rockers didn't have much to be angry about. Reaganomics was over, Bush Sr. was gone, America had the coolest president in office ( a guy who would play Elvis on Arsenio Hall wearing black Ray-Bans but would later get blown in the Oval Office) and everything was cool. Thus, the gutterpunks and angry young rockers got A) introspective or B) interested in having a good time. Either way, we can't knock their hustle.

This episode of the Ear Candy Update is dedicated to the bands that made punk rock fun and introspective again.
